Project: Widows Shelter Rehabilitation
Location: Timbuktu, Mali
CADG, under our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, was engaged to rehabilitate tent structures for widowed families in Timbuktu, Mali. The project was female-specific and the workforce was drawn mainly from amongst the women from the local community.
The direct beneficiaries of the project were 60 widows who were specifically identified and their family members. The tasks involved included:
- The engagement of local (female) population as part of the community self-help workforce.
- The erection of 60 tents each specifically measured and designed to fit each beneficiary’s family unit size.
Through collaboration with stakeholders, senior local authorities and community representatives, the project was successfully completed and supported stabilization plans for the region of Timbuktu.
