CADG was appointed to provide construction works for Camp Dwyer located in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  

The harsh terrain was the core challenge for this project but our experience of working in such environment managed to successfully get all the work done which included:

  • Construction of six heavily reinforced (blast proof) large concrete buildings comprising of offices, living accommodation, DFAC, MWR and Gym. 3 of the structures comprised of living quarters with en-suite bathrooms.
  • Supporting infrastructures including various steel platforms and portal framed structures, roads and car parks, portable water treatment works, sewerage system, electrical power source and distribution, HVAC systems, communication network and 1500 of reinforced concrete security wall at 4m high.
  • Two structures comprise MWR/Gym ad DFAC facilities with another structure built for the operations center.

Delicate and critical path components for the project were flown in while general construction items were transported overland, fully utilizing our experience of working in hostile environments. The project was successfully completed ahead of the stipulated time frame.
