RAJU SHAULIS, PRESIDENT
In 2002, entrepreneur Raju Shaulis co-founded Central Asia Development Group (CADG), a company focused on implementing donor-funded economic development programs and civil engineering projects in developing countries like Afghanistan. Under her able leadership, CADG has grown tremendously. Recently, it transformed from a technical consulting firm to a full-service engineering and development business.
Prior to founding CADG in 2002, Raju established four agricultural trading companies based in the U.S. that specialized in trading certified organic agricultural commodities such as rice, wheat, peanuts, corn, dried fruit and nuts. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and resides in Singapore with her husband.
STEVEN PATRICK SHAULIS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In 2002, Steven Shaulis co-founded CADG to help work on reconstruction and development initiatives after the fall of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. For the past twenty years he has specialized in economic development, infrastructure, agriculture and logistics. As the Executive Director overseeing all operations of the company, he has led the widespread expansion of CADG’s operational expertise and geographic footprint.
Steve’s leadership has been central to the CADG Engineering division receiving international recognition for quality design, construction and supply of building materials in some of the most inhospitable environments in the world. An International Business graduate from the University of Maryland, Steve currently resides in Singapore with his wife.
MICHAEL LAMBERT, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
As the Chief Financial Officer of CADG, Michael Lambert heads our financial arm, identifying new opportunities and managing and developing relationships across our global operations. With an extensive career spanning eighteen years in five different countries, he brings valuable financial expertise to CADG’s team of specialists.
Prior to his role here, Michael served as a hedge fund manager and investment banker in London for twelve years. Prior to that, he spent five years in Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the commodities trading business. He has also worked specifically in distressed asset recovery in Singapore.
WILLIAM T. HARRIS, DIRECTOR, NORTH AMERICA
Veteran U.S. diplomat, defense foundation president, Army War College professor and NATO negotiator, Bill Harris manages CADG’s business interests and relationships with governments and private customers in North America from our Washington, DC office. As the former U.S. Senior Civilian Representative in Kandahar (2009-2010) and State Department Political Advisor to the Commander of Coalition Forces in Afghanistan (2002), Bill brings exceptional experience with civilian-military operations in conflict zones to CADG’s management team.
MARIJOHN SAMPSON, CHIEF STRATEGIC BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
As Chief Strategic Business Development Officer, Marijohn Sampson brings in-depth expertise to CADG’s contracts division. Highly experienced in the development and management of high-impact projects, she oversees contract and subcontract compliances as well as donor-funded programs. Her skills include developing business in challenging markets, interfacing with customers and industry peers, generating leads and project opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, promoting our corporate brand and developing committed teams that achieve lasting results.
Previously, Marijohn worked as a collaborative leader establishing and managing urban development and reconstruction projects in Asia (Afghanistan and Indonesia), Europe (Italy) and Latin America (Brazil and Argentina).
CADG delivers engineering, aviation, agricultural services and aid management to remote and challenging locations.
